Guide 2 – Customizing your firmware with Xposed Framework
Customizing your phone can be done with a custom rom, however, if you would like to change colours or elements in the ui you may want to check out the worldwide known app called ‘Xposed Framework’.
I’ll explain how it works.
First of all, you’ll be wanting to check which version is compatible with your device.
The Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus, for example, has an armv7 architecture.
The original version supports armv7, so you can download Xposed from the site right away.
If you own an Intel based device you’ll need to download a version specifically for that kind of devices or you’ll get a bootloop!
Anyway, to install the framework after downloading you’ll need to take these steps:
-Install app as an apk (as usual).
-On the main screen tap on install/update framework.
-Make sure app_process and XposedBridge.jar are both installed and updated.
It will indicate green numbers if you did it correctly.
-If it indicates something different, you will have to tap install/update and straight after that reboot your phone.
-The framework will activate and you’ll be ready to use your first module!
After installing Xposed Framework you will be able to choose from a wide range of modules, which you can find in the ‘Modules’ tab.
These can theme your phone and add new features to your rom!
You just need to choose the module you like.
To install a module:
-Choose a module from the ‘Download’ tab and download it.
-You will be prompted to install the module, do that.
-Go to the ‘Modules’ tab and activate the one you just installed by tapping on its’ tickbox.
-Reboot your device and you’re good to go!
Keep in mind that if you’ve installed and incompatible module or version of Xposed Framework, you agree that you’re the one held responsible to any damage that YOU will cause to your phone and it will be YOUR own fault if anything goes wrong!
If it goes well, you’ll enjoy all the benefits that this app offers.
